I’ll be quick…

As it is Christmas Eve and we all should be preparing (well, those of us who celebrate Christmas of course…) to roast our chestnuts, hang our stockings, make merry and spread good will to all men (and women), I’ll keep this brief.

Just before I popped off up north to visit my folks for the Xmas break, I managed to finish ‘The Burning’, my 5,000 word chapbook story for BL Live 2010. It’s a tale of the Salamanders, building my opus further still and this time Dak’ir takes centre stage. It’s a bit off the wall, I think, but in a good way. Those of you lucky enough to be attending this prestigious event in the Bl calendar – enjoy. Those who aren’t – well, just order it from the website (which will hopefully be up and running by then – pretty sure this chapbook is going up there in, admittedly, limited supply).

Right, that’s it. Firedrake is next for me to write, but it’s been a hell of an end to 2009, with all sorts of ups and downs, so I frankly need a good rest.

Happy holidays to you, one and all. I hope you have a good one. Festive wishes and all that good stuff from me. Thanks for being there in 2009. Hope to see you in the new year! :)

Good job I’ll be there then! The missus got me a couple of tickets as an Xmas gift, wonderful girl that she is.

Hope everyone here had a great Christmas, even if you don’t celebrate it. Tis the season of good will, after all. Why should that good will be limited to those cultures who celebrate the birth of the Big J himself?

Anyone stray out into the (somewhat lessened) cold today to see Sherlock Holmes at the cinema? Very good film, the two leads nailed the characters perfectly.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I recently found your site and I’m an avid collector of Black Library books and a Salamander player of 40K. Can’t thank you enough for the books and look forward to more stories from you in the future.

Have a safe and productive new year!

    Dear Nick,

All the best wishes for this new year !

I you have time, could you please answer these questions ? Are you going to write about him and the ultramarines second company in the future ? Soon ? Any plans ?

Really liked him,a great hero !

And could you say if the first heretic by aaron demski bowden is about the fall of the word bearers ?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Cheers, Bastiaan.

    Hey Bastiaan,

Sorry about my tardiness in replying… a Happy New Year to you, too, sir! :)

I would love to write another novel featuring the Ultramarines 2nd Company in the future. I did really enjoy writing Assault on Black Reach. The truth is, though, there are no plans yet for me to venture back there. Certainly, Graham McNeill is the main man as far as Ultramarines are concerned and I wouldn’t be surprised if you saw Sicarius and co in one of his forthcoming novels…

Unfortunately, as the Horus Heresy is a pretty secretive series, I can’t reveal any information about the novel. I can say the Word Bearers are in it, though… Sorry! :(

Thanks Nick, for the reply !
