Want to win a piece of Fireborn?

Well, do you?

Reason I ask is that last Sunday I did a fairly exclusive reading of an extract from Fireborn, the forthcoming Salamanders audio drama. It was part of GW’s Club Thank You Day and honoured all those tireless chaps and chapesses that work so diligently to keep their gaming clubs running and maintain the love of the hobby. Top stuff.

Anywho, the reading went down well (I had the extract in rare, printed form in a special little booklet – it’s a bit like the one for Vulkan’s Shield at Games Day 2009) and after signing a few, I blagged some to give away on the website.

Yes, you too can own a copy of the extract booklet as signed by me that contains the first third (roughly speaking) of the audio book. It’s worth noting, I think, that this is written in prose style and not script and won’t be available for some time, certainly not in this form. It’s also very likely that the script version will differ slightly from my original words in order to suit the spoken medium, so this is a bit of a unique thing.

I have five of these little extract booklets to give away and, get this, there’s even a sneaky peak preview of the cover to Firedrake on the back (yes, it’s only small and black & white, but it does look pretty cool). More on that later, though…

In order to win one of these little beauties all you have to do is answer the following question:

Q: In the novel Salamander what is the name of the first Marines Malevolent that the Salamanders speak to aboard the Archimedes Rex?

Stick your answers down on the comments. Yes, I know other folks will see the answers but they won’t know it’s right. In any case, I will randomly select the winners from the correct entries, so everyone’s got a fair shake.

Okay, deadline for answers to come in is the 15th of December. I’ll announce and post the winners by the following weekend (the 19th).

Now, go, go, go! :)
