Wow, great news ! This is what I asked for in the past. Very happy to hear.

Glory to the second and Sicarius ( and not only to sicarius :p ) !!!

Looking foward to it very much. Tigurius in chapter's due was nice, and he seems to be present as well.

The relationsship between the 3 sergeants was nice, as was the point that Manorian still grieves he wasn't present at the assault.

Perhaps it would be nice to see some other heroes again, like Telion, or Chronus or Cassius. They got very few time in a Chapter's due.

Cheers and good luck ! Courage and honour !

Nick, any chance of at least a short story about the Khornate marines in Fireborn? They were seriously cool.

On a related note; unsurprisingly, Fireborn was cool too. :P

Hey Nick, great to hear that you're doing another Ultramarines novel! I enjoyed Black Reach and will have to re-read it in preparation. I hope the new one is also packed with all sorts of fluff us painters can use ;) (I'm currently working on a Squad Manorian, and plan on painting Scipio's Tactical Squad and Arcus Helios' Terminators).

From the description in Matt Ward's Space Marine Codex, sounds like dreadnought Agrippan will play a major role, will Agnathio and Ultracius be present as well?

Good luck with Firedrake and Damnos!

P.S. I've been wanting to show you my Ultras since Games Day Chicago. Any way to send you a jpeg?

I never got a chance to read Assault on Black Reach but im looking forward to Fall of Damnos, of course because the Necrons are involved, plus according to a picture of Damnos I saw once The Nightbringer was there. They, and the Dark Eldar, need to be used more often.

But the Ultramarines will be nice to read about again. I am a fan of Graham McNeill's Ultramarines but it will be nice to read from a different Ultramarine's POV, rather then Uriel Ventris. And Venerable Brother Agrippan's assault into the Necrons will be awesome, I know it.

And I think Dan is right as well. If you were to claim the Necrons and write some stories about them it would be beyond amazing. While the Tyranids may be impossible to write about I think Necrons could be done, some still do have a bit of personality, even if its just insanity.

Well Mr. Kyme....as much as I may detest Sicarius, in truth it wouldn't be him if he wasn't one and I'm sure I'd be the first to say that something is wrong if he turned up and he wasn't all full of his own self-importance.

He just makes Scipio all the more likable and just generally better by comparison.

I may have to reread Assault on Black Reach at some point....it's been a while since I've read it and remembering the characters as made me feel quite nostalgic.

Thank you Xisor; someone else who thinks Nick does the Ultramarines better than Graham McNiell!

Graham - Storm of Iron is immense, all your Honsou stories have been awesome, and Guardians of the Forest is one of the best Warhammer Fantasy novels out there, but your Ultramarines books just aren't up on the same level as your other work! Leave the boys in blue to Nick.

Nick! I don't want to be helping the cause of 'more possessiveness', but I think Dan here has hit an absolutely wonderful point:

You can claim the Necrons as your own!

Well, okay, that's not quite right. Sure, Si Spurrier, Anthony Reynolds, Sandy Mitchell and Andy Chambers all got their grubby mits on 'em earlier, but lets face it: this is a full novel thumping the Ultras against them.

If you can't become possessive about the Ultras (and good as "The Chapter's Due" was, I couldn't help thinking 'you're not Nick Kyme!' when reading about Scipio and friends), then there's a massive opportunity for *really* throwing yourself into the Necrons. Or even just Damnos' particular brand of Necrons...

Very keen to get my hands (err, ears) on "Fireborn", not long now. Thoroughly enjoyed "Hell Night" too, I might add.

Woot, more Sicariarse! (Sorry for the shocking pun, but he's just my kind of bastard!)

This is going to be a real epic, someone finally gets to tackle the Necrons in something other than a sneaky villain role - a full on battle with the big metal monsters! If anyone can do justice to both parties - Necrons and Ultramarines - it's you Nick!

On a different though related note, I really hope I get the go-ahead with my synopsis for the short story I want to write. It's somewhat easier for you to get the go ahead to write something for the Black Library, being an established writer, so here's wishing me luck! Hopefully if it all goes well, you might feel a twinge of that buttock clenching on an official level!

Even if I don't get the go ahead this time, next time I'm going to try again, and again until I get it right!
